Social networking sites are not going away any time soon. As a parent it is important to set an age limit on when it is appropriate for your child to have a SNS. Another aspect of social networking is to instill in your children the fact that anything that goes on that site is not going to leave the web. Even if they delete their site it could still be somewhere on the internet. Things that may be funny or "acceptable" when you are young may come back to haunt you later in life when you want a job or career.

I think making your kids join social network sites can help them learn so many things about other people and discover new cultures too.But parental control should be ensured so as to effectively control what they are doing.
